Just getting started? Check out our tutorial for more instructions on how to use your pen.
We rarely receive customer complaints regarding the Shelter Vape Pens, however, we’ve done our due diligence to troubleshoot these issues in hopes of being able to pass on our discoveries. Here’s what we’ve learned so far:
Clogged Tip
This is likely from the oil settling in the mouthpiece, causing it to clog. If you’ve got swimmers lungs, a hard draw from the mouthpiece is often enough to unlodge the oil. Another common remedy is to find a bobby pin and poking it into the hole. To help prevent this issue in the future, be mindful of keeping your vape pen ‘tip-up’ in your pockets and stored upright when not in use.
Is your pen cold? If the oil in your pen is colder than room temperature, it can take a bit longer for the coil to heat the oil to the required temperature. Try taking a few draws, and after about 3 it should be thoroughly heated.
Gasket
If you’re certain your battery is charged, and nothing else seems to work- give this a try!
Unscrew the top your vape pen. On the bottom of the vape top (where it screws into the battery) you’ll notice there’s a small hole with a small diameter of metal around it. Surrounding that metal diameter is a teeny tiny rubber gasket. Once in a while, that little gasket will be askew, causing an improper connection between the atomizer and the coil. To fix this, a tiny pin or knife can be used to push that gasket back down into place. A pen pushed into the hole and wiggled can also be enough to move the gasket back into position.
